There is no substitute for a focused strategic approach to growing your business. Consider these questions:
Are you following the same procedures in your business repeatedly without assessing their effectiveness?
Do you find yourself buried in daily activities that rob you of the time to brainstorm and implement new strategies?
Are you seeing a 30% or more increase in revenues and why?
Do you know who your most lucrative clients or customers are and where and how they find you?
Every business owner should have answers to these questions. Moreover, giving thought to them motivates strategic thought. The position of your business at any momemt can be tied to the thought out strategies implemented in the past.

Now is the time to seriously examine how we spend our time. Every moment should be devoted to getting, tracking, courting new customers and reestablishing relationships with past customers. Any activity that cannot be accounted for should be removed. So many are engaged in busy action but cannot say where their best customers are and how to reach them. Finding out is an activity worth your time and effort.

Entrepreneurs are independent individualists. Understandably, we prefer to make decisions according to our beliefs and instincts. This is not an indication of recklessness or foolish actions. Successful entrepreneurs give great thought to business strategies. However, good consistent advice from an independent, trusted mentor/coach provides valuable insight. It allows the individual to step back and hear alternate perspectives. This process is always revealing and refreshing and leads to great advancement of thought and feelings. I find that one aha moment propels me forward and results in achievement and breakthrough. A good mentor/coach helps to remove mental obstructions and obstacles and creates a clear path. Starting a business requires a special kind of guts. I mean, we are considered crazy and delusional. Yet much points to entrepreneurship as rising out of the ashes of massive layoffs. States and cities report sharp increase in the number of new business. It’s the quite emergence of a class of people ascribed to free enterprise and the new capitalism. This is the age of small or micro businesses that will impact our economy for some time. Many entrepreneurs languished in large organizations, unwilling to risk the wonderful benefits and perks. I am one who found I was suddenly removed from my well paying management level position. It was the opportunity for me to to forge my way. I no longer wish to be vulnerable to an organization’s financial status. I strongly believe that entrepreneurship is a powerful weapon for creating wealth for individuals. Entrepreneurs are a unique blend of bravado and risk taking but we are not crazy. We know the path on which we tread and do so without regret. Yes, many begin this journey and then retreat for legitimate reasons. However, the latent entrepreneurial bug remains and will emerge again.
